Unstuffed Cabbage

1 lb lean ground beef

 

1/2 tsp olive oil

1/2 green pepper chopped

1/2 red pepper chopped

2 garlic gloves minced

1/2 cup onion diced

1 small green cabbage head, chopped

2 14.5 oz cans diced tomatoes

1 8 oz can tomato sauce

1/2 cup beef broth

1 tsp paprika

1 tbsp brown sugar

1 tsp red pepper flakes

1 tbsp oregano

1 tbsp basil

2 tsp salt

1 tsp pepper

 

In large deep skillet, brown ground beef, onions, peppers & garlic, cook until browned and crumbly,

Drain & discard grease

Add cabbage, & all remaining ingredients, bring to a boil

Cover & reduce heat, simmer until cabbage is tender, could take a couple of hours.

Serve with a scoop of sour cream

Stirring frequently.

Such a good comfort food

Serve with a green salad & fresh bread
