Traditional Chili with Ground Turkey

This chili really is one of my favorites

1 tbsp olive oil

1 lb ground turkey, 99 % lean

1/2 large yellow onion diced

1/2 green pepper diced

1/2 red pepper diced

2 jalapeno peppers minced with seeds

4 garlic gloves minced

2 tbsp cumin

2 tbsp chili powder

1 tbsp white sugar

1 tsp salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 1/2 tsp oregano

2 cups beef broth

1 15 oz pinto beans, drained and rinsed

1 15 oz kidney beans, drained and rinsed

1 15 oz diced tomatoes, undrained

1 15 oz tomato sauce

1 6 oz can tomato paste

Heat olive oil in a large soup pot over medium heat and stir in the ground turkey. Cook and stir until the turkey is crumbly, and no pink.  Stir in onions, all peppers and garlic. Cook and stir until onions are softened, about 8 minutes.  Slowly add all remaining ingredients.  Stir Bring to boil, reduce heat to low, cover, stirring chili frequently for 1 to 3 hours, or all day long.

I like to cook my chili for a several hours for more flavor

You will not even miss the ground beef

Enjoy…
