5 lbs pork shoulder
(dry rub)
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup sugar
3 tbsp paprika
1/4 tbsp garlic powder
2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp chili powder
2 tsp oregano
2 tbsp cumin
Mix all rub ingredients together & gently pat the roast all over with dry rub
You will only be using half of the rub, store remaining rub in container
Let roast rest 1 hour, uncovered at room temperature
Cook roast in a smoker for 1 hour per pound at 325%
( I use electric outdoor smoker)
(Place water in tin in smoker & wood chips in tray)
When roast is complete,
Top roast off on medium charcoal coals, till a little black & crispy, I use a Weber grill
Let roast sit for 1/2 hour after grilling
Shred pork roast with fork
Served shredded pork on buns with Barbecue sauce, or enjoy plain
This pork roast by far is the best roast my husband has ever Made!
