This meat sauce is hearty, can be used in spaghetti, stuff shells, Lasagna
or just dip into toasted garlic bread.
Freeze in small containers & enjoy on nice cold nights

2 1/2 pounds ground beef- I used 70% fat
1 1/2 pounds ground Italian sausage
2 tbsp olive oil
2 large yellow onion minced
1 large green pepper minced
1 large red pepper minced
6 garlic gloves minced
1 cup white wine
1/2 cup red wine
3 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
1 14.5 oz can diced tomatoes, with oregano, garlic & basil
1 28 oz can puree tomatoes
1 4 oz can tomatoe paste
1 jar good marinara sauce
1 jar 4 cheese tomatoe sauce
1 tbsp dried parsley
1 tbsp dried oregano
2 tbsp dried basil
5 whole bay leaves
2 tbsp white sugar
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tbsp salt
1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
1/4 cup fresh parsley-diced
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese-I used reduced
In a large sauce pan cook over medium heat, ground beef & Italian sausage, until totally browned.
Drain grease & place hamburger & sausage in a large pot for cooking sauce.
In another large sauce pan,
Add
Olive oil, onions, garlic, & peppers, cook on medium heat, until nice & tender
Place sautee veggies in same pot with hamburger & Italian sausage & add all remaining ingredients.
Cover & cook on low all day long, stir frequently
Discard bay leaves
Cook Al Dente spaghetti, drain & toss with a little olive oil,
Sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese over spaghetti
