Ingredients
1 cup raisins
3 cups flour
1 tsp baking power
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup sugar
1 tbsp grated orange peel
1 1/3 cups butter milk
1/4 cup butter, melted
brown sugar
cooking spray
Whiskey Glaze
1 cup powder sugar
2 tbsp reserved whiskey
water
Place raisins in small bowl with whiskey. Marinate over night, reserve whiskey for glaze.
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees and spray cast iron skillet with cooking spray.
In large bowl mix, flour, baking soda, salt, baking powder, sugar, orange peel, butter milk and butter, until a ball, add raisins.
Spread evenly in cast iron skillet
Bake 40-50 minutes, let rest and cool
Combine powder sugar, reserved whiskey and small amount of water until drizzle able consistency
Drizzle over Irish Bread and sprinkle with brown sugar
Allow glaze to set.
Carve around edge of cast iron skillet, place plate on top of bread flip into another plate, flip again.
