Cabbage Lasagna

 

If you like cabbage you will love this meal

It’s truly delicious !!

Spray a 9 x 12 pan with cooking oil

1 head of cabbage, cut in half, peeled, cleaned & then steamed

Place steam cabbage on clean kitchen, to allow to drain wetness

1 lb 90 % lean ground beef

1 red pepper diced

1 green pepper diced

1 medium onion diced

1 tbsp dried basil

1 tbsp dried oregano

1 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp dried parsley

1/2 tsp paprika

15 oz can tomatoes

14.5 oz diced tomatoes

1 15 oz ricotta cheese

1/2 cup cottage cheese

1 egg

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup reduced shredded Mozzarella cheese & 2 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese

dried parsley

  1. Brown meat with onions, peppers, & all spices, drain fat
  2. Add tomato sauce & can tomatoes, mix well, simmer 20 minutes
  3. Mix ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, egg & grated Parmesan cheese
  4. Heat oven 350
  5. Place a small amount of meat mixture on button of prepared pan
  6. Layer cabbage meat sauce, cheese mixture, repeat.
  7. Ending with meat mixture,
  8. Topping off lasagna casserole with Mozzarella cheese & grated Parmesan
  9. Sprinkle casserole with dried Parsely
  10. Cover with aluminum foil & bake 45 minutes
  11. Uncover, bake additional 15 minutes
  12. Broil lasagna to get a little crispness
  13. Let this amazing casserole rest 10 minutes before serving
